Never Pass to a Covered Player
Never make a pass to a man who is covered just to get rid of the ball. In lacrosse, passing the ball to a covered player can be a costly mistake that can result in a turnover or a missed opportunity. When a player is covered, it means that they are being closely guarded by an opposing player, making it difficult to receive the ball and execute a successful play.
Passing to a covered player can also allow the opposing team to intercept the ball or force a turnover, which can quickly shift momentum in their favor. Instead, it is important to look for open players who are not being guarded or to wait for a teammate to get into a better position before attempting a pass. By being patient and strategic with passing decisions, players can minimize turnovers and maximize scoring opportunities for their team.
